Dynamic AI v6.4 introduces a Named User price model that will run alongside the existing concurrent user pricing.
The Named User prices brings the cost of ownership of Dynamic AI down further by recognising that in most cases access to the information provided by Dynamic AI will be appropriate to a limited number of specific individuals, and of these, not all will be needing design access but will just need to see the reports etc created by their more technical colleagues.
Dynamic AI’s named user pricing allows for any combination of Authors and Viewers.
- An Author has all rights to create reports, menus, dashboards, manage security, etc
- A Viewer only sees the reports, dashboards etc that have been set up for them by an Author as an individual user, or part of a group of users
The starting point is a single Author with 3 Viewers, at £1,573
A single Author and 5 viewers is £2,155, while 2 Authors/5Viewers would be £2,802.
These named user Server Edition prices compare with the previous Server Edition starting point of 5 concurrent users at around £6,5000 and represent a considerable saving. Furthermore, while this appears to be a less flexible usage model it is in fact better matched to what we have found to be actual usage requirements. Very often the information Dynamic AI provides needs to be restricted to specific people in an organisation, and it is rare that everyone who should have Dynamic AI created information available would also be active Dynamic AI Authors.
Increases in either Author or Viewer users can be made at any time for the difference in price.
The previous pricing, including for Desktop and Embedded runtime versions continues, but it is worth noting that the new 1 Author/3 Viewer (4 users) Licence price is only marginally more than 2 Desktop licences (£1,629 vs £1,500), and considerably less than even 3 Desktop licences (£2,250).
